Hi! My name is Mary Ellen Mckenzie and I would like to share with you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Wabash, Indiana and have lived here the majority of my life. I attended IVY Tech State College where I earned my degree in PC Support. I have been married to my husband Joe since June 1997 and we have a beautiful daughter, Ellen. She was born in October of 2003.
I began working for Vernon Manor Children’s Home in February of 2003. My official title is Administrative Assistant. I answer the phone, do accounts payable, payroll, and help everyone out as much as I can. I do a lot of typing of reports for department heads not to mention assisting them if and when they have a problem with their computer. I even assist getting the children on and off the buses for school. At those times I get the opportunity to interact with the children and they love it.
Vernon Manor Children’s Home has the most caring and loving staff that I have ever worked with. Everyone here is like one big happy family. It is a joy to work in such a place where you feel like you make a difference in someone’s life by just going to work.
