    John Reed, Jr.

John Reed, Jr., was born and raised in Wabash, Indiana and graduated from Wabash High School. J.R. also attended Heartland Career Center for one year. After graduation, J.R. moved to Mt. Gilead, Ohio where he lived for six years. At that time he built houses, did framing and residential construction business for Reed and Son's.

After moving back to Wabash, J.R. had his own Residential Construction Business for nine years and worked for Kellam Inc. for fourteen years doing commercial, building, concrete, steel buildings, service foreman, maintenance, and specialty foreman.

J.R. Reed has been with Vernon Manor Children's Home since November of 2002, coming to us with more than a total of twenty-nine years of construction experience.

Married to Elizabeth A. Reed since 1984, they have one daughter, one son-in-law, and one granddaughter.

J.R. attends Chapel Church of God and drives the youth van. He also helps out with the youth group when needed.

"My wife and I help out with church activities, I also do maintenance for the church. I like working for Vernon Manor Children's Home because of the kids and their families. I feel like I can help out and make a difference. We're all like family here at Vernon Manor."
