 I can't believe it has been a month since I started at Vernon Manor! Nor can I believe I never applied earlier. I absolutely love it. The residents are awesome and the staff is more dedicated than any I've ever know. I am truly blessed to be here.
I suppose you would like to know a little about me as well. I have been a Health Facility Administrator since March of 1993. My most recent position was with Hickory Creek at Peru as the Administrator. Since 1993 I did take 5 or so years out to own and operate Apple Seed Child Care. We had four day care homes in Peru with 62 children enrolled. During that time we occasionally cared for special needs children and that along with my years as office manager for a local pediatrician and healthcare administration has helped prepare me greatly for this position.
 On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful man, Charlie Bowen and we have 6 children and spouses who have blessed us with 20 grandchildren. See, more preparation. I am a lifetime student currently enrolled in Advanced Woodworking at Ivy Tech. I attend Peru Assembly of God and teach the 2nd grade Sunday School class. This fall I will be attending Clinical Pastoral Education through Lutheran Hospital at Dukes in Peru.
I am a 7 year cancer survivor through the Grace of God and on the 4th of July I completed my first 5K walk. Do you ever notice how more impressive 5K sounds than 3.1 miles? Well, anyway I did NOT come in last, a little kid and their mom was. At least I impressed my son-in-law because I didn't pass out during the walk.
