Mrs. Ball has been employed with Vernon Manor Children's Home since November 1979. She started as a Certified Nurse Aide. She commented that in the beginning she was only working to make a "little extra money". "Well, I'm still here and all that you have to do is just visit us and you will know why. The children take your heart."
Barb is presently the Environmental Service Supervisor and manages the operations of the Laundry and Housekeeping departments. She also is the chair person for the facility Safety Committee.
Barb states she has been married to a wonderful man since March 1990 and between them they have 5 precious children and several very precious grandchildren. Her husband is a retired Wabash City Fireman and still works in their business of installing telecommunications equipment.
"I enjoy my job and the people I work with are great. I'll probably still be working for a few more years, only for that "little extra money", of course." |
